The Dutch are developing a surprisingly good solution for charging

In principle, it is forbidden to lay the charging cable for the electric car on the sidewalk, even if appropriate measures were taken to avoid the resulting risk of tripping. Even if you were to cover the cable with a cable bridge, this is not permitted in Germany and many other countries. It would lead to major problems for rollator users and wheelchair users. This is particularly annoying for people who have no other charging option nearby. However, the Netherlands solves this in a very interesting way. The Netherlands uses special paving stones. These stones have a small groove in which the cable is laid when it has to be laid over a sidewalk. This means there is no risk of tripping or obstruction for wheelchair users, for example. The cost of the stones varies. The price for a replacement is around 500 euros. However, the city sometimes covers half of the costs.

This option has already been used in Germany, but is somewhat more expensive in comparison and there has been no financial support to date.
